2022 Summer Construction

June 27 -July 1 2022 we completed spot patches and overlays on Fourth of July Creek Road and Tamarack Road (From Canyon Rd to I-90), and continued shouldering and culvert work on Wolf Lodge Creek Road (From Alder Creek Rd. to Marie Creek Rd.)

July 5th- 7th: We are preparing for overlays on Alder Creek Road, milling Wolf Lodge Creek Road, and chip sealing Fourth of July Creek Road and Wolf Lodge Creek Road (from Alder Creek Rd. to Marie Creek Rd.)

July 11th-19th:  In conjunction with the City of Coeur d Alene and  Worley Highway District, we are chip sealing Coeur d Alene Lake Drive from Higgens Point to Sherman Avenue.  Please expect lane closures, delays, and loose gravel.

Traffic Calming measures along Coeur d Alene Lake Drive have been regularly discussed by the East Side Highway District Commissioners ever since taking over operation and maintenance of the roadway from ITD.  We have received numerous questions, comments, and concerns from both citizens and law enforcement regarding excessive speeds and safety considerations on the roadway. We are seeking public comment on several traffic calming options.  Our goals are to reduce speeds, improve driver awareness, improve safety, and prioritize quality of life in this residential and highly popular recreation area.  We are in the “idea” phase and there are no planned projects.

Please use the Comment Form to share your thoughts with our Board of Commissioners.
